Students, staff and parents were today (Tuesday 24th August) celebrating the best ever GCSE results achieved at Carisbrooke High School. The School’s provisional headline figures were

5A*-C: 75%
5A*-C (EM): 48%
1A*-G: 99%

These figures are very likely to increase since there a number of results pending.

David Jeapes, Head teacher said “We are delighted with these results and we would like to recognise the hard work of students and staff as well as the support of parents in achieving these record breaking figures. We have seen particular improvement in our core areas of English, ICT and Science”

Following the release of GCE A Level results, we are delighted to announce that Carisbrooke High School has achieved it’s best ever A Level results.

Our headlines are:
A*-C is 71%
A*-E is 98%
A*/A is 17%

27 subjects had a 100% pass rate at A*-E and 11 had a 100% pass rate at A*-C.

If you are thinking of joining our sixth form it’s not too late. Carisbrooke High School offers a broad range of subjects for you to study including extensive A Level provision and exciting new BTECs in Fashion and Sports. Working with us, you can also enjoy a wealth of subjects at our collaboration schools, Cowes and Medina High Schools and at the Isle of Wight College.

We also offer a programme of study for students who may not get the GCSE results they were hoping for which can be mixed in with some of our level 3 subjects.

On Sunday 27 June students from Carisbrooke High School in association with Arnewood school joined forces for their final team building and training day. Having raised £5,500 between them to build and equip a school in Kathmandu Valley their attention has now turned to preparing themselves for the trip of a lifetime.

As these New Milton and Isle of Wight students climb 18,000ft to Base Camp Everest North, they carry with them the blessings of TV celebrity and explorer Michael Palin.

The group from will spend part of this summer taking 4x4s across the ‘roof of the world’ through Tibet following the route taken by the former ‘Python’.

But the real aim of their life-changing adventure is to officially open a school in the Kathmandu Valley, which has been built and fitted out with equipment thanks to their £5,500 fundraising success.
